Health and Safety Administrator

At Hifi Engineering Inc. we build world-class fibre optic sensing and monitoring technology for wellbores, pipelines, and critical infrastructure. Hifi is looking for a Health and Safety Administrator.


The HSE Administrator will assist with the facilitation of the company health, safety and environmental program and is responsible for the ongoing administration and support of department matters. The right person will cultivate strong, trusting relationships with both field and office staff, while developing and maintaining day-to-day safety policies and processes. As a key support role, you will assist management and field supervisors to achieve corporate objectives; most notably, maintaining the company’s COR certification and maintaining company records.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain records, documents and data relevant to the HSE program while ensuring accuracy and updating as necessary to comply with most current Government Legislation
  • Managing and updating employee, (sub)contractor, and equipment related documentation as part of the HSE program
  • Participate in incident investigations, complete required reporting, as well as communicate and follow through on corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement
  • Pre-qualification of new (sub)contractors.
  • Support in the scheduling and facilitation of company HSE meetings
  • Scheduling of safety training/courses as required
  • Arrange for and conduct new hire and/or site-specific health and safety orientations
  • Assist with the administration of company HSE accounts (ISN, Avetta, Veriforce)
  • Complete and submit internal and client required reporting
  • Manage client safety requests and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Conduct field/site inspections and internal audits as well as oversee and assist with external audits to ensure COR maintenance.
  • Overall safety support for management and crew.

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong planning, organization, time-management skills
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude and ability to work both independently and as a contributing member of a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organization
  • Must be dependable with excellent attention to detail
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Minimum 2 year working experience in HSE (preferred)
  • Experience in the Construction or Energy industries an asset
  • Auditor Certification considered an asset

Willingness to travel: Some travel may be required for site safety visits

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
