Hifi Announces SOC2 Compliance and Development of Deep Fake Verification Machine Learning Software
Continued evolution of Hifi’s system platform delivers additional security and compliance benefits for HDS™ high performance sensing
CALGARY, Alberta, May 5, 2022 — Hifi Engineering (“Hifi”), a developer and supplier of next-generation fiber optic sensing technology and machine learning software used to monitor critical infrastructure including pipelines, oil and gas wells, and other assets today announced the company has recently completed an audit and attestation examination for the company’s service organization controls (SOC) Type 1 and Type 2 compliance. Hifi has also announced the development of new machine learning-based software to provide “Deep Fake” verification functionality for Hifi’s high fidelity distributed sensing (HDS™) platform.
Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC2 is a service organization control standard which defines and tests criteria for managing customer data based on five trust service principles: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. SOC2 has become an extremely important security compliance standard for service organizations leveraging cloud based data delivery.
“Hifi is very proud to have achieved SOC2 Type 2 compliance”, said Ehsan Jalilian, Vice President and CIO of Hifi. “This achievement demonstrates Hifi’s commitment to secure cloud-based delivery of data for our partners, so that they can rely on Hifi’s HDS™ platform as part of their critical operations”.
The new Deep Fake development provides for digital verification through advanced machine learning software which mimics signatures of various events and alarm conditions, such as pipeline leaks detected by Hifi’s HDS™ optical sensing technology, to test system effectiveness.
“We are very pleased with the advancements and innovations Hifi continues to generate using our machine learning capabilities”, said John Hull, Hifi’s Founder and CTO. “Deep Fake verification is a key differentiator that provides a turnkey offering for our partners looking to broaden their verification and validation strategies.”
Hifi also announced the approval of a new patent issued March 29th, 2022, “A DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING DYNAMIC STRAIN“. This patent addresses the design of an innovative method of deploying Hifi’s high fidelity fiber optic sensor for applications requiring extremely high signal to noise ratio and spatial resolution.
