Hifi Hosts Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources

Hifi was proud to host Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, during the Calgary Stampede for a demonstration of its High Fidelity Dynamic Sensing technology at the GE Innovation Centre in Calgary.

During the visit, Hifi demonstrated how its fiber optic sensing system operates across pipeline infrastructure, providing continuous visibility into changing conditions along the pipeline. By measuring acoustic, temperature, strain, and vibration data in real time, the system allows operators to better understand activity across the full length of the asset.

The demonstration also showed how this approach supports earlier awareness of potential issues and enables more informed decision making. Instead of relying on limited data points, the system offers continuous coverage, helping operators respond more effectively and manage infrastructure more efficiently over time.

The visit highlighted the importance of innovation within the Canadian energy sector, and how technology developed locally can contribute to improving the performance and reliability of critical infrastructure.

The visit also provided an opportunity to share examples of how this technology is being applied in operational environments. Demonstrations like this help connect innovation with practical use, supporting broader awareness of advanced monitoring solutions across the energy sector.
