Hifi Engineering Hosts MP Michelle Rempel

Hifi was pleased to host MP Michelle Rempel, along with guests from SDTC and the pipeline industry, at the BHGE Innovation Center for a demonstration of its fiber optic-based pipeline leak detection technology.

The demonstration showcased how Hifi’s sensing technology monitors pipelines in real time, supports detection of leaks and other events while improving overall performance and reliability across pipeline infrastructure. Using distributed fiber optic cables, the system captures acoustic, temperature, strain, and vibration data continuously along the pipeline, allowing operators to identify potential issues earlier and respond more quickly.

During the session, attendees were introduced to how Hifi’s High Fidelity Dynamic Sensing (HDS) technology operates in real-world conditions, including its ability to reduce false positives while maintaining high detection accuracy.

The demonstration also highlighted how this approach can support both operational monitoring and preventative maintenance across critical energy assets. Engagements like this provide an opportunity to connect with industry and government stakeholders and demonstrate how advanced sensing technologies are contributing to safer and more efficient pipeline operations.

These interactions also help highlight the role of collaboration in supporting continued innovation and adoption of advanced monitoring solutions across the energy sector.
